CC License Richard Stephenson June 25, 2015 It’s early in the morning for me right now; I’ve had way too much coffee so far (but I still plan to have more) and the weather is rainy and wet outside. What has been on my mind a lot lately is how hard I try to have things in order. I think we can all relate, right? Each night before bed I try to plan my day ahead for the following morning. Planning way too in detail even down to what I will be eating and what times for this and that. I am trying to grasp the concept of just trusting the day and what comes at me can be dealt with at that moment. Stress and disappointment come about from this over controlling mindset. I think I am setting myself up for success with all the planning I am doing ahead, (which in a sense I do create some success) but I also cannot see the future of every detail for the days ahead. When I plan so much, and things come up that I did not foresee, then that sets me up for disappointment and then I feel that is me being a failure. How many of us have just felt that no matter what we do in order to make up for the slack we have created in the past, nothing really changes? It is so easy for our minds to go straight to negativity. It is in our nature to be aware of the negative in order to protect ourselves. Trusting our judgement and setting up a positive mindset will set us up for success and a happier life. In the article about the successful Michelle Bishop, who is a highly successful entrepreneur, author, Epay, describes three major steps to success. These are mindset, strategy, and massive action (Epay, Advocare Business Alternative). This is what I am practicing on the daily. I was given a devotional book, and mine is through a higher power, however, any devotional book dealing with positive practices is something I highly recommend. It is like I have someone much wiser than myself to give me daily advice in what I can do in order to make each day an improvement in myself. Through this journey of my failures, successes, disappointments, and all emotional life experiences I hope you all can be a part of my journey and learn with me and help encourage as hopefully I can do the same to you all.
